I am glad I found this
This story does not compare to the classic stories that I have heard from the Suspense radio show from the 1940s and 1950s, but I have heard about this show and I always wanted to listen to this. It is a little bit slow in spots, it probably would have been much better as a 30 minute show, but in the 1970s all of the radio shows during the revival of radio were 60 minutes.I am glad I found this, and glad to listen to it.

Five Stars for the Uploader
edited- The writing is meh, it could have been better, and so could the acting by one of the characters (the stepdaughter, who uses the adjective 'marvelous' which no American under 50 would ever use in life) listening to the entire show, I can see why the networks didn't buy it (many reasons, it was way too plodding in spaces, and really wasn't done right for radio acting, not to mention the ending, which in '79 probably was too edgy for that era and may 'offend' whiny types who complain loudly) anyway, the audio you can hear the album dust and a few clicks and hisses - this is not a criticism just an observation and really isn't a flaw at all in fact it tells you that you are listening to an actual vinyl record which is a plus.
This is TOO bad this episode was chosen as their pilot, had they chosen a better script, better actresses, and a less controversial ending it MAY have had a chance. With what it had, there is no way it could *not* have had an instant death in Radio. Too bad!
The CBS mystery theatre as of the 1970s, and those were spectacularly great in ALL ways: acting! Sound effects! Plots! Endings! awesome all around.
This wasn't that great, I did enjoy it! you will too I am sure. The big five stars is for the uploader for archiving this, as any one-offs are gems in themselves for their rarity.
